Current Weather Situation – Community Statement

Kia ora,

We hope you are all safe and warm and keeping out the rain during this current weather situation in Canterbury. We wanted to update the community on the current plans for Monday 31st May. At this stage the school remains OPEN for instruction. Our property has minor issues with surface water but remains safe for staff and students. Students are advised to follow all instructions from staff in their movement around school.

We are aware that roads and low-lying areas are suffering to varying degrees from flooding. As the safety of our students and families is paramount, we would advise that if you feel it is unsafe to travel to or from school on Monday to please stay home. Please let us know if you intend to keep your child at home through the usual absentee communications.

If the weather deteriorates over the course of this evening and Monday morning, we will advise the community at 7.00am of our plans to remain open or close for instruction.

Thank you for your understanding during this evolving event.
