On Friday 5th August, Prime Minister Jacinda Arden visited Christchurch for an informal afternoon tea with Year 13s from across the city.
Vincent Kennedy (ER Gospel Spirituality Leader) and Tristan Reiha (ER Liberating Education Leader) are set to study political science in 2023 and so they represented the College.
It was a fascinating afternoon: the PM spoke honestly (and amusingly) of her time at high school and her vulnerabilities around leadership. Both Vincent and Tristan were impressed with her public speaking skills and ability to connect with young people. Local MPs, Megan Woods and Poto Williams also chatted with them about their future plans and the struggles of NCEA and Covid-19.
The College is grateful to Burnside High School for hosting the event.
