Sports Awards Night 2021

Dear Parents and/or Caregivers,

My name is Daniel Kahura, I am one of the Sports Co-ordinators here at St Thomas of Canterbury College.

I am pleased to announce that the Sport department have started preparations for our annual Sports Awards Night for 2021.


This night is to recognize the superb sporting achievements that our students have accomplished over the time frame of Nov 2020 – Oct 2021, in both team achievements and individual achievements.

On the night, will also be provided with great food (included in ticket price,TBC), entertainment and a guest speaker which will be announced at a later date.

Date: Friday 29th October 2021

Venue: STC Hall

This event is just around the corner, and we need nominations to be sent through.


We want to know about EVERY sporting accomplishment your son has achieved from November 2020 – October 2021.

An example of a nomination could be:

– Making a representative team

– Achieving a placing in a tournament

– Or anything you or the student believes is worthy of being recognised.

Please send through the name of your son and details of the event.


Joe Bloggs entered the 50m Freestyle event at the Canterbury Swimming Champs andplaced 4th OR Johnny Leo’o was selected in the U16 Canterbury Metro Development Team

Nomination options:

(1) Reply directly to this email or email

(2) Complete the form attached and hand it to Mr Coulthard (or any other member of the Sport Department)

You can nominate your own child, or student’s friends, and students can nominate themselves.

The sports department will have the final say on whether or not a nomination is worthy of being recognised at the annual sports awards night.

Trial Dates – If your son has not had their respective sport representative trial yet, please could you let me know the date of the trial so we can follow up with the student post trial/tournament as we do not want any student missing out on being recognised.
