Welcome back to a very busy Term 3! As the first week passes us by, we have already had fixtures in Football (2 x 1st XI victories) and Rugby (U14’s playing a touring Australian team in the holidays and the U15’s defeating St Andrews on Wednesday afternoon). Basketball, U12-18 Rugby and 1st XV Rugby all begin this weekend.
Looking ahead we have a number of important fixtures and tournaments:
1st XV Rugby – final rounds and finals for the UC Championship.
U12-U18 Rugby – final rounds with games continuing until September.
1st XI Football – final rounds and finals
Junior Football – final rounds and finals
Basketball – final rounds and finals
Winter Tournament Week (Week 7: 3rd – 7th September)
St Kevin’s Exchange (TBC – End of August)
Koru Games: 18th – 21st September
AIMS Games: 9th – 14th September
While it is a packed sporting calendar, it is important that students find balance between their sporting endeavours and their academic pursuits. This balance is even more critical in Term 3 as we approach the final weeks of NCEA study. Therefore, it is vital that while we work hard on our chosen sporting fields, we must also push ourselves to great success in the classroom. We all battle to find the right path, but it is those who find balance and persevere no matter the circumstances, that will eventually prevail.
