Social Justice Immersions

Students learn to see the world through a different lens.

Students at the College are provided with opportunities to partake in a range of social justice immersions including travel to India and the Philippines.

“…the friends made in India will stay with me and everyone else who went, for life. Not only the friendships but the confidence and sense of perspective that came with the trip, seeing the other half of the world and truly understanding what life is like for some. We may have left, but India will stay inside every one of us.”

The purpose of these immersions is to move students beyond their comfort zone, to enable them to engage with and understand people of different culture and to gain a perspective on the structural issues which cause poverty and injustice in our world.

There is a significant reflection process involved before, during and after the journey during which the students learn to see the world through a different lens and through this process journey into their own hearts.
