This course has been designed to develop the student’s self-confidence, communication, perseverance and education in an outdoor environment.
The course involves tramping, mountain biking, completing the Otago Rail Trail, orienteering, camping and first aid.
Outdoor Education provides the students with the opportunities to develop personal and social skills to become active, safe and skilled in the outdoors, and to protect and care for the environment. This course has been set up by the Physical Education Department for students who are interested in outdoor recreation. It will be a Unit Standard based course (Level 2 credits) which caters for students who are practical minded.
